Update, new TV, Monitor Array,

Been a while since my last post, sorry to any readers. Things have been going well. Mostly marketing lately, trying to figure out the ins and outs of power launching all of my projects waiting in the weeds. My primary focus for the projects has been my Parent company for all individual projects. I’m trying to get some FREE advertising anywhere I can, but not how you think. I’m looking for any companies/websites that revolve around development that might be willing to have their ads placed on our sites for FREE until we’ve decided what the reality of our advertising campaigns will be.

In tech news, I missed my xbox 360. I missed using it so badly, that I purchased a new TV to use with it. Being who I am(a tech junkie) I had to get the best one I could find at Best Buy short of a Sony XBR8 or an LEDtv. What I finally decided on was a 40″ Samsung ToC 640 120Hz HDTV. It has a lightning fast response rate. Also, the 120Hz is fully customizable and down scalable to 60Hz if need be. It has some extremely deep blacks with a dynamic 80,000:1 contrast ratio. I’ve setup XBR8’s before with their Million:1 contrast ratios and honestly, I can’t seem to tell the difference between these tv’s. The TV is full HD 1080p, has a plethora of ports, it’s networkable with RSS feeds and weather built right into the controls, as well as media playback through the USB ports. If I had to voice any complaint, it would be with the audio, which is typical of any LCD for the most part. But the way the ToC 640 handles bass is just too poor to even appear like they made an effort.

Samsung ToC 640

My plan for the TV aside from missing my 360, which I rarely play anyways, is to hook it up to the PC. I will be purchasing 2 new PCI-E video cards to run in SLI and utilize all 4 heads to connect my 2 current Acer H213H’s as well as the Samsung ToC 640, and a third H213H that I will purchase when the time comes. Luckily all 4 displays are the same 1920×1080 full HD resolution, so windows that I move from display to display will fill the same amount of space, different resoltuions on shared desktop space for me is just plain unbearable. The plan for the desk will be the 3 H213H’s side by side on articulating, telescoping, rotating arms. This should give me the ability to turn them to portrait mode when required. I will have the Samsung ToC 640 above them and a telescoping, tilting arm. To the right of all of these, I plan to have a wall mounted multi-touch display to run OSX on with the small Logitech DiNovo mediaboard to control it in case I need to run any Mac speciffic apps, which unfortunately seems to be the case with my venture into RoR at the moment. My primary system is currently, and will always be multi OS but I’m doing this without a bootloader and just have removable SATA drives setup across the front containing OS drives for Vista x64 Ultimate, Windows 7 x64, and OpenSuSE11×64.

I have my laptops and other workstations here still, all setup for different purposes such as Audio, Video capture, SEM, etc… But I’m also planning on building a Server for file serving/storage, DNS, and AD services.

Ya, this is going to be fun!

Predictions for 2009

Hello friends! I know it’s been a while since my last blog post, but here is a fun one: predictions for 2009. When reading this, realize that I have NO PULL whatsoever in anything and that these are just my opinions and predictions. I do not have the ability to predict the future…

Hot and not, 2009.

Automotive: Hot: Ford, Nissan Not: Subaru, GM

Lame looking new WRX

Lame looking new WRX

I’m predicting that Ford will come out with something amazing in 2009 that will stop everyone in their tracks. It’s been a while since they’ve impressed me, so I think they are overdue for something amazing. Nissan already impressed the crap out of me for 2008, I think they will carry on.

Subaru dropped out of WRC, this is official, they are no longer giving a crap about their rally heritage and it is more than apparent in their vehicle lineup. IMO all of their cars have become bug-eyed, watered down and CHEAP LOOKING. Comparable to Kia and the like. GM currently makes one car I enjoy, and that’s the corvette, but I don’t LOVE that car. GM has so many problems, a lackluster selection, poor offerings as far as reliabilty and I can see them tanking if the government stops bailing them out.

People: Hot: Odette Yustman, Hugh Jackman Not: Tom Cruise, Oprah.

Odette Yustmans sexy ass from the Unborn

Odette Yustmans sexy ass from the Unborn

OMG ODETTE YUSTMAN!!! She is this years Meghan  Fox, or will be Friday, when The Unborn officially launches. She has an amazing body, amazing face, and carries herself well on camera. She can handle a lot of roles and I see her going far in 2009. Michael Bay is directing The Unborn and I have faith that the movie might actually be as exciting as the trailer leads you to believe. Can’t wait to see it! Hugh Jackman is a great actor, already “the worlds sexiest man” and is a really down to Earth and cool guy.

Tom Cruise, where to begin with this guy. He’s becoming increasingly boring, and the roles he takes on as a cameo actor lately sure do suck hard. His performance in Tropic Thunder just frustrated me, I hate when movies have lame bits like that. I’m predicting that in 2009, he will not be in the spotlight of the press nearly as much as has been in previous years. Oprah will probably stay boring, keep her show going, and not let anything exciting happen. She’s boring like that, I’m guessing nothing exciting will happen with her.

I’m guessing Obama will no doubt spend lots of money, tick me off, and continue to become more popular for no apparent reason other than the fact that idiots make him out to be some kind of pop culture icon. Clothing will have his face all over it, and everyone will continue to think he’s the “bees knees” despite him being a snaky socialist.

These are my predictions for 2009. Like I said, don’t take me TOO seriously, these are topics unrelated to me and my authorities are placed elsewhere.
