Basically: I’ve fallen off the face of the planet for a while.
In order for me to be more successful, I’ve taken a break from normal life to concentrate on work and health.
I’ve changed my myspace to reflect that I’m invisible right now. I’m not answering my phone for anything other than work, will not be responding to myspace, instant messaging, emails, or other online communications. I’ve been receiving a lot of phone calls from lots of people at all kinds of random hours and I just can’t keep up or hit any of my deadlines with this happening so my phone is virtually off from 5pm-8am for the duration of my going ninja. I don’t mean any offense by this, I just need this time because I’ve got A LOT on my plate at the moment and the next few projects I’m doing are very important to me. I’m normally on board with the “let’s go kick it” at 3am phone calls, but just not right now.
People view self employment as “You can do whatever you want, all the time” when in reality, someone who is self employed still has to work. It may not mean you work all of the time, but you definitely have to apply yourself to stay in business. I try to work 8-5 almost every day when there is work available to me. It allows me the option to slack off as much as I want, but just like with anything else, slacking off gets you nowhere.
When people take offense to me telling them I have work to do that is more important than “whatever”, their attitude is holding me back and they should know that they need to respect the time I’m allotting for work just as I would with them and their respective jobs. We all have to work.
Leave me some messages on here and when I’m through I’ll respond to all of them. You may or may not be able to see the results of what I’m working on at the end of this ninja period, but none the less, know that this is very important to me.
